Pursue Whats Eternal Part 1: Purity

Today, I would want to be transparent sharing my heartbeat and journey in pursuing a set-apart life (with the help of Pastor Judah). Its both exciting and amazing to see the fruits you bear and the season one go through.

Being in the last year of poly, its much more difficult to be committed to purity as soon I realise not only my blessings have been doubled but so does my temptations. We all know purity is not just a line to cross but a process to embark on. We are living in a society which do not know the true meaning of purity, wavering moralities, people who want to conquer yr virginity (To Guys as well YES TO GUYS say tt 5 times) and brokenness. It grieves my heart to see how so many relationships can be so broken, which spurs in my heart with the grace of God to truly impact the society regarding this area.

Committing my life to Christ is not just by my actions, thoughts, deeds but especially your heart. Easier said than done, as times and times again we stumble and sin. In school for example, its hard to say no to available relationships/flings/sex with ladies who are good-looking, brilliant and smart. Its extremely difficult, because its availability and temptation is 360 degrees. Temptation is an opportunity to sin and it doesn't pursue u, but Sin does and he does so aggressively. We have to be aggressively pursuing purity if not we are at the disposal of sin. But Purity is not the final destination, saving your virginity is not the end, saying no to unyoked relationships IS NOT the goal. Its about pursuing God its about your heart and purity is the process because our God is a Holy God.

Purity is the state of being without mixture. Restoration of purity is critical because man without mixture is the expressed reflection of who God is. And sometimes the pursuit of purity can get so practical it lacks spiritual understanding. Purity is not about rules although its wise to have them but its about yr transformed heart.

Why is this important? Because this is what the world needs. Men who pursues God.
Im not a very attractive person, I have nothing to offer, neither charismatic or enchanting. (Bear with me on this and do not roll your eyes because its an important point) But yet somehow miraculously I have attracted mildly or aggressively a number of ladies, and its hard for my part to not jump in and get attached (as I said attractive, smart etc), refraining myself for just the One. Thus I asked God "I got nothing to offer, I done nothing why does it still happen?"

"Because simply you have a relationship with me." Ladies and gentlemen the 1 thing that will make u attractive eternally is your relationship with Christ! Your intimacy with Him that makes you beautiful! Don't u agree? If is yes plz tag and say yes. If not u can state your defense and I will answer them as best as I can. Why? Because if you have a relationship with Christ, Your life would reflect it. Attaining Kingdom Values like "Wise, Maturity, Righteous, Persevering, Patience, Kindness, Love, Joy, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self- Control!" These are the things that makes u attractive.
Thus I urge you brothers, pursue God and in that process will u pursue purity. Its not about your words, deeds but it always ALWAYS about your heart. Don't give in, press on, live life set apart.
And Sisters encourage, train, challenge us. Please don't lose hope on us whether guys are wooden or hopeless. U have the ability to spur us to attain True Manhood

God only you have my fragile heart
With grace, my life will set apart
You forgive and love as I stumble or sin
My body is the temple u live in
U love me too much to see my way remains
To set me free from these old chains
Surely your goodness forever endures
Surely I’m forever yours

Gearing Up

With the sight of Singapore 70.3 Aviva Half Ironman as my focus for this month, its been a fearful experience. Never has there been 1 day that I never tot of the journey I went thru last year. Now once again, tested, sharpen, pruned. To glorify the gift & passion Giver by being faithful with the gifts & passion he has given me. This is worship.

Anyway 2 videos I really love to share, I highly encourage u to watch it, both has brought me such joy in 2 different ways!

Why do I have a feeling my son be something like that

One of my inspirations, he really understand what and why hes doing it, which most of us christians are guilty that we do not. He knows truely how to glorify God. He also pursues God not because of the gifts he give, or what he can do for you, but just HIM. Theres a difference in pursuing His presence and not his presents and it can be seen by the people around u.

Hard Training

Yesterday was my toughest training on the bike, my prayer was usual, a song in my heart, praise on my lips and a good extremely tough HARD training. And God answered me this on 4am.

LOL Its quite funny ok! My hard training wasn't meant to be this! Its an insane 3hrs cycling through a storm with wind making mi go crazy. Well its good training for the worst of weathers in triathlon. Anyway my point is this times and times again HE answers prayers, apparently there was gnashing and weeping of teeth on earth :P

Our Olympics Conversation

Its rare to watch the same TV as my parents on the same bed, its really something that brings back rare childhood memories. We were watching the Olympics, Table Tennis Finals, Singapore vs China it was really exciting and encouraging to see Team Singapore really gruelling it out with the top few. Good Job! Real Proud

Anyway my conversation with my mum while watching

*After whacking me when we lost 1 round*
Mum: The team from China play so well but they look like Aunties!
Mum: So unlike Li Jia Wei so pretty! Dye hair and everything so pretty.
Mum: *Hinting and looking at mi*

Sky: *Roll eyes*
GOOD JOB TEAM SINGAPORE :D

Flood

We know the feeling. We stood where Noah stood. We know our own share of floods. Flooded by sorrow of a loved one, stress at office, anger at your incompetence. We seen the floodwater rise, and we have seen the sun set on our hopes as well. We are on Noah's boat.

The beautiful thing at this moment was this, at the horizon he saw a dove returning a olive leaf. This leaf was more than foliage it is a promise that still exists this day. Don't u need a leaf today? A leaf that brings hope delivered by a dove so heavenly his name brings awe to my lips.

Leaves for happiness, strength, intervention. Our bible is full of these olives leaves.
And in the midst of your floods, with all due respect, the most severest floods whether its yours or others, in God's view is nothing but a puddle. He is not confounded, confused and discouraged.

So receive that leaf, because we need it. Receive it so we can SHARE it. What a difference one leaf can make.

As for Noah...he went up the ladder with questions, after receiving the leaf, he came down the ladder with new confidence.
